Description National Trust. Built about 1530 and probably Lavenham's best known building after the Church. Has served variously as a prison, workhouse, almshouse, wool store, nursery school and a 'welcome club' for American servicemen during World War ll. Now a museum with interesting displays of local history, gift shop and tearooms. Unique dye plant garden.
